Front suspension.
You can see the steering servo and the modified winch servo between the farme rails.

As already said the wheels and tires final choice were the Kyosho Landmax ones.
They are cool, scale and bigger than the Tamiya BFG even if not big as the usual 2.2 truck wheels.
The problem was that they have a big hex in the rims. So I built some adapters out from nylon blocks.

Here the are 3 steps of the building.

The rear slot will aceept the stock pin to transfer the motion.

They fit the TLT axle without mod
and work as wideners even.
I needed to widen it cause those rims have less offset that the 1.9 rims.

To secure the tires I reversed a flaged locknut and filed some material to tighten them.

These tires looks great under the jeep. They should have a taller side wall, but I don't mind.

Alluminium Rollcage.
The plastic rollcage gave a toy look to the truck.
I built this rollcage out from alloy solid bars and tubes.
If you look at the bigger image you can see the scratches of a LOT of rollovers LOL.

The spare tire is one of the original Tonka wheels with an hacked touring rims inside it.
